In case you missed it
No, I’m not keeping two puppies.
The pet home that I was hoping would love to have Lucy never contacted me back despite multiple attempts and messages. She was never “out of the running” as a show-quality puppy, but up until this point this home had been very good about communicating with me and they seemed wonderful, so I really wanted to be able to place a puppy with them. I honestly don’t care that they changed their mind or got a puppy elsewhere, but I do sincerely wish that they would at least have let me know about it rather than leave me hanging for days wondering whether she had a home or not. Regardless, that’s neither here nor there. So once it seemed that I didn’t have a pet home waiting for her, we looked at her again for show and the consensus was that she really has quite a bit to offer.
Mandy discussed it with Keith and Jo, who own Pilot’s beautiful sister Clem, and they are going to own and show Lucy. She flies out next week to Spokane!
If you’re keeping track, that does indeed mean that 7 of the 9 puppies are in show homes. It feels a little crazy to say that, and I certainly never expected or planned for it! I feel *extremely* lucky that there was such a good amount of quality in the litter AND that I had so many people (and friends) who were interested in showing one of these babies. Now I just keep fingers and toes crossed and bite nails that they all turn out well!

Jeri, that was a flat-out lovely litter. Lizzie and Pilot were a beautiful blend. I expect you’ll have great health results as well. Good for you and good for our breed!
Jeri- your success with your first litter is what many of us breeders work so hard for. Kudos to you!!
Years of hard work on the parts of other people is what made it possible…with a good dash of luck thrown in. I’m thinking I should never breed again! LOL
You did kind of get a head start over the 15 years of hard knocks Mandy and I put in
(And that was just in Cardigans)
WOW that is amazing – Hope I can find show homes for any worhtwhile pups in Kate’s litter! But then again, I’d settle for great pet homes too.
Wow! That’s great that you were able to place so much of Lizzie & Pilot’s litter in show quality homes. Thank you so very, very much for letting us have Harmony as a pet. We are very lucky to have such a beautiful, sweet and smart little girl.
It was a wonderful litter. We are both very excited and pleased about Lucy coming to live with us! We are counting the days until we finally get to meet her. Thank you so much!
So is Lucy going to stay Lucy – or will she get a new name? Is her registered name decided on yet? (I’m a name obsesser, I know..)
VERY exciting!
I’m so happy that so many puppies are in places where we can watch them grow up on the internet…
Congrats to Keith and Jo on getting one of these amazing babies…
Both Jo and I feel that Lucy is a great name for her. Very fitting a Corgi with a Pilot-like attitude, but hopefully not Pilots skill at flying from tables, need to watch for that.
We have a few registered names under consideration, but are sorta waiting for Lucy to tell us which fits her. We do feel very blessed to be recieving one of these wonderful pups, a truly outstanding litter, poor Clem, Lizzie and Pilot set some very high standards.
