Not like Dixie can make up her mind either…
so, photo session! For some of them, at least.

Daily Cute – Tuesday
Can I get an “Awwwww!” The puppies were very tuckered out after their torture shots and microchip session with me and Leslie. Cade Nash Booker? and Pickles curled up together.
Questions answered
I’ve seen several questions about who is going where, so thought I’d just make a post about it.
Yes, 8 puppies are still here makin a big old mess.
Dixie is coming next weekend to make her pick…because a lot of the girls have some nice qualities, there really isn’t a clear-cut “pick”. They have different strengths and weaknesses, so it comes down a bit to what is important to people. Kate has her eye on a couple and will decide after Dixie does. Vegas will be going to a lovely show home in MN, who owns Music. Miles has a pet home waiting for him in GA, but they have a trip planned so will be picking him up over Labor Day weekend hopefully. Once I know who Dixie and Kate decide on, then the rest of the puppies can get sorted out! I have a couple of very patient pet homes who are waiting to see which puppies might be available.
And Cade/Nash is staying here!
Daily Cute – Sunday
Wow, what beautiful weather today! It is relatively cool, partly cloudy, and gorgeous. Added bonus that Dave mowed the grass yesterday so it’s actually a somewhat manageable height.
What a perfect day for the family to lounge around in the backyard playing with puppies.
Happy Birthday little man
Jack turned 2 this past week. My running joke is that now he has the age to back up his behavior!
He’s impossible not to adore though, with his infectious smile and zest for life (I joke that Jack likes to live life “out loud”, emphasis on “loud”). He’s also very squarely a mama’s boy, which is fine by me. I love getting my snuggles from Jack. Despite that, he went to Mother’s Morning Out this week for the first time! And they didn’t even have to call me to come and get him.
Happy Birthday baby boy.
Bye-bye Harmony
Today Miss Harmony left with her doting new mamas, Cindi and Patti. She will have several new corgi friends to play with, gets to go to work, and I suspect will be one spoiled (and lucky) little girl.
Her registered name is “Allegro Good Luck Charm”, and they are keeping the name Harmony. I admit I’m glad, because it does seem to suit her! She woke up in time to take a cute picture, after lounging in Patti’s arms for the hour plus while we talked contract and specifics LOL.
Daily Cute – Monday
Miles! He is winning the ear war…that one side is up more often than it’s down these days. He is such a fun puppy, he loves to play! I’m starting to get a glimpse of the handsome dog I think he’ll become.
And good news on the Lizzie front…she has finally decided that these are dogs and not puppies! I put them all out in the backyard this morning. After a couple of minutes of telling them all “Get away from my nipples!” they got the point, and she actually FRAPPED with them instead of just worrying over licking butts etc. Naturally, I had put the camera away by then LOL, but it was cute and they all had a grand morning plowing through my long dewy grass.
Echo hasn’t gotten the memo yet and thinks she’s going to sneak in the back for a quick snack, but here is Lizzie and half of her brood:
In the grand tradition of mothers everywhere, Lizzie has started blowing coat like crazy. You can see it on her rump, and I can see it in the hairbunnies all over my floors inside…I’m not looking forward to the shed, but I AM looking forward to getting my Lizzie girl back.
She’s been a wonderful mother, but I like her better as lapwarmer and constant shadow.
Update
Looks like the old man should be ok. He has narrowing of 2 spaces between vertebrae in his lower back, one more severe than the other and likely causing his pain. He wasn’t showing any lameness/paralysis though, which is good news. Anti-imflammatory shot and pain meds and sent us on our way with warnings to watch for any signs of worsening. He also has a very calcified disc, but that is much higher up closer to his shoulder area.
Good thoughts needed
Brady has messed himself up. I think it’s his back…heading to the emer vet since our regular vet is closed. Le sigh.
