Migrating again!

In case you missed it

No, I’m not keeping two puppies. 

The pet home that I was hoping would love to have Lucy never contacted me back despite multiple attempts and messages.  She was never “out of the running” as a show-quality puppy, but up until this point this home had been very good about communicating with me and they seemed wonderful, so I really wanted to be able to place a puppy with them.  I honestly don’t care that they changed their mind or got a puppy elsewhere, but I do sincerely wish that they would at least have let me know about it rather than leave me hanging for days wondering whether she had a home or not.  Regardless, that’s neither here nor there.  So once it seemed that I didn’t have a pet home waiting for her, we looked at her again for show and the consensus was that she really has quite a bit to offer.

Mandy discussed it with Keith and Jo, who own Pilot’s beautiful sister Clem, and they are going to own and show Lucy.  She flies out next week to Spokane!

If you’re keeping track, that does indeed mean that 7 of the 9 puppies are in show homes.  It feels a little crazy to say that, and I certainly never expected or planned for it!  I feel *extremely* lucky that there was such a good amount of quality in the litter AND that I had so many people (and friends) who were interested in showing one of these babies.  Now I just keep fingers and toes crossed and bite nails that they all turn out well!

Lucy's ears were mostly up, but one was creasing a lot so I taped anyway.

I call this "Longing". Brady is a toy hoarder, but Lucy does her best to get him to share.

12 Weeks

My non-dog-person husband sweetly agreed to snap a few pictures for me.  Unfortunately, I didn’t notice for Lucy’s pictures that he was standing all the way up, hence the lovely look-down-upon-thee angle of her side photo.  He did reconsider his approach before we got to Nash, thankfully!

And then there were 2…

Miles/Wall-E’s new people came today to pick him up.  Richard and Audrey live in Atlanta with Cosmo (from Sunkissed), so now will have a matched set of brindle Cardigan boys.  They chose the registered name of “Allegro Modern Love Charm”, going with the David Bowie theme of Cosmo’s registered name (Space Oddity).  Aren’t they cute?

It’s getting empty around here

Vegas is on a plane this morning to Minnesota, where he will be greeted by Joyce and get to frap with her 2 other Cardis.

Kate left with Junie B also.

Only 4 left!  Miles is going home this weekend, and Pickles Piper is heading on a plane on Friday.  Lucy’s placement is still being discussed and considered.

Today, I breathe.  I’m so grateful that Dixie and Kate were able to come and visit so I could get to know both of them better.  What lucky puppies I have!

Yes, Dixie ended up with TWO puppies.  She chose Echo as her pick.  Kate chose June as hers.  Pickles Piper (aka Mini-me) goes to Traci, and that left Maddie without a show home.  Since Dixie was, ahem, fairly smitten with the little pistol, I’m not surprised at all that this is how it ended up. 

They got on a plane a little bit ago and hopefully will arrive safely in Seattle at o’dark thirty tonite.  Bye girls!

But at least she’s making new friends
